HEY EVERYBODY
Guess What? I'm doing a radio show. My music collection grows almost daily. It's to the point where my cd's are all over the floor and in danger of being stepped on. So, I decided to do an hour long narrated mixed tape of my favorite stuff before it gets stepped on. The show is going to be called "Keller's Cellar Somewhat Ruleless Radio". It was originally going to be called just "Ruleless Radio" but fortunately, a triple A radio station in Wilmington, North Carolina invited me to fill an hour on Saturday nights. So, obviously the FCC makes it "Somewhat Ruleless". The only real rule is that I can't say or play any songs with the words shit, fuck or bitch in them. Other than that I can play whatever I want. Anything!

Each week will be a different theme song. I promise to only play my own music underneath my voice as I talk about the selections I've chosen for that week. I plan to record a dozen or so one hour shows in the next couple of months. My goal is to be syndicated like Howard Stern. Except I won't talk as much and will play all kinds of music but none of which you normally hear on the radio. It's something that will get better with time and something for you to keep an ear out for.

Sincerely,
Keller

09/09/08Time to talk Politics

I get my news from The Daily Show. When I think of politics, I think of Washington D.C. When I think of Washington D.C. I think of the redskins.

09/08/08Welcome to my new website!

Welcome to my website. Those words are easy to sing. Those were the words in the little jingle that would appear as soon as you hit on the old slow boring out of date website that I used to have. I'm going to miss that little jingle as I would hear it often when I would check the site to see where I was playing next...I recorded it long ago by using 6 vocal tracks. Despite it being only about 4 seconds long, I got complaints about it.

09/11/08WARNING!

I wish I could talk to all birds that fly around my land. I would offer them a warning - try to lend a helping wingy hand. I would say stay away from those big ass windows today. They are covered in glass that you can only fly into even though I know you want to fly through.

10/16/08The Dead Reunion for Barack Obama

The show began on time with the allman brothers. Classic, tight,
intertwining guitar harmonies and super strong vocals from gregg
allman. It was truly exciting to see the original members of the dead
onstage having fun. Bill Kreutzmann, especially. There was a super
positive dance-y vibe coming from both drummers, which pushed the
songs along with an unexpected, but welcomed vigor. Warren haynes
takes the mvp. Two hours of allman brothers licks and tones and then
another two and a half hours of totally different playing styles and
different tones with the dead.

07/07/09Stiffed

I would like to formally and officially offer my humble apologies to the Fraternity in State College PA. I recently accused them of stiffing me for $250.00 back in the mid 90's when I could have sworn that I played a party at their Fraternity. I really, really, really thought I did but they were quick to point out that I did not. I really, really, really wanted to prove them wrong but it has been 14 years and I don't have any real proof other than my aging memory and those of my old buddies who went with me to that gig back then.

09/25/08The Riverboat CD release party

On September 16 2008. Gibb Droll, Jeff Sipe, Keith Moseley and I played a 3 hour acoustic set on a river boat named "The Spirit of Fredericksburg" as we lazily cruised down the narrow section of the Rappahannock. 100 computer savvy people were in attendance as this show was announced only on the internet. The show started with somewhat a "listening room" vibe. Folks were sitting quietly and grooving as they sipped cocktails and watched the scenic sunset slip in and out from behind the trees.

09/25/08Nelsons Ledges

September 17 2008 was the first electric show for our September tour. After spending 2 days playing acoustic (no one felt like lugging amps or drums up from the basement plus it was in the 70s on the porch and dark and dungeon like in the basement) as well as a 3 hour acoustic set on a river boat, we were ready to stomp on some distortion pedals.

10/10/08Grunge grass: A novelty project playing bluegrass versions of alternative radio hits from the 90's

I have to explain it like that because I couldn't come up with a whole set from just the "grunge" era that I liked enough to spend time learning. The weird thing is, I wasn't really into these songs when they were popular and being crammed down our throats on radio and TV. Times were different then. Massive airplay meant massive record sales. Which means a lot of people know this music. When I road test a few of these songs, it is clear that folks know this stuff way better than I. It’s surprisingly easy to transform these songs into bluegrass songs.
